Today's strip is such bullshit. But I'm afraid it's what we'll be up against as the Hard Right lobbies for O'Connor's (and, soon, Rehnquist's) replacement. The recent Supreme Court eminent domain decision will be twisted into a Liberal/Activist Judge issue and cited as a reason we need more Scalias and less Souters.
Winslow's lemonade stand has been "eminent domained" and taken over by Le Latte Shack. You see what he's done? He's turned a Supreme Court decision that is very friendly to BIG BUSINESS (like the Patron Store of the Red States: Wal-Mart) -- you remember Big Business...what the Grand Ole Party used to be about -- and made it about liberals and their lattes and their pro-French language stance. As I said: it's bullshit.
Co-op. Twist. Demonize. Ridicule. Attack attack attack. These are the watchwords of the New Right Moral Paradigm.
