In My Eyes

TODAY'S STRIP

Yesterday we saw Winslow 'holding out hope.' Today we find out he's a cynical optomist [sic]. (Thanks to the preponderance of unionized public school teachers who are in it just for the money, young pups today can't even spell 'optomist' correctly.) Typical of his ilk, glomming onto convenience and waiting for the mountain to come to them instead of going to the mountain. He's a symbol of the entitled new breed of liberals - the Lloyd Dobler generation, if you will.

What do these shiftless America-haters think, if one wants to be bold enough to explore their dark chasms? "I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that." And so we find these 21st-century Doblers delaying adulthood, their cultural connections - nay, obligations - to marriage and childraising nearly nonexistent, allowing the U.S. to sink when they are relied upon to hold it up. As a result, the processing and selling of America to the Red Chinese has begun, while they continue lying around in their brand-name boxer shorts in an air-conditioned apartment playing their computer video games while this is happening. There's not a ghettoblaster big enough to hold over your head to get them to change their rotten attitudes - but if there were one, I'm sure it would be "Made in China."
